Swim & Dive Heads to the Desert to Battle the Arizona Schools

The Bruin swimming and diving team will travel to the desert this weekend to take on Pac-12 foes Arizona and Arizona State. UCLA, ranked 25th in the first national poll of the year (CSCAA), will face No. 23 ASU on Friday at noon and No. 8 Arizona on Saturday at noon.

UCLA holds a 17-13 all-time lead over the Wildcats and are 20-8-1 against the Sun Devils. The Bruins are 1-0 after opening up the season with a dual meet win over UC Santa Barbara. Arizona is 3-0 with wins over Kansas, UNLV and Wisconsin. ASU is 2-0 with wins over UNLV and Wisconsin.

All-American Yasi Jahanshahi highlights the Bruin swimmers, while Emma Ivory-Ganja and Paulina Guzman highlight the divers competing. Several new faces will be in the pool this weekend including Monica Dornick, Allison Gargalikis and Noelle Tarazona.
