BRUINS HOST OREGON STATE TO OPEN PAC-12 SCHEDULE
The 14th-ranked Bruins (23-6, 0-0 Pac-12) begin conference play this weekend against Oregon State (25-8, 2-1) at Easton Stadium. Game times are Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. Gametracker and free audio will be available at UCLABruins.com, as well as live updates at twitter.com/uclasoftball.

TICKET INFORMATION
Advance tickets are no longer on sale for Saturday's game against Oregon State. A limited number of tickets may be available on the day of the game on a first-come, first-serve basis but are not guaranteed. Available tickets would go on sale 90 minutes prior to first pitch at the Easton Stadium ticket booth. Tickets are still available in advance for Friday and Sunday's games (limited number for Sunday) online here. Tickets will also be available at Easton Stadium on game day.

ON DECK
Pac-12 play continues for the Bruins, as they travel to Tempe for a three-game set with fifth-ranked Arizona State. Game times are Thursday, April 5 and Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 7 at 12 p.m.

BRUINS IN THE POLLS
The Bruins moved up two spots to 14th in both national polls this week. UCLA earned 54 additional points in this week's USA Today/NFCA poll and 28 more points in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball rankings.

BRUINS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Through games played on March 25, the Bruins are the nation's leader in batting average at .373. UCLA is nine points ahead of second-place Texas and Louisiana-Lafayette. The Bruins are also in the Top 15 in five other categories, ranking third in slugging (.607), sixth in runs per game (7.37), tied for sixth in doubles (49), tied for eighth in triples (10) and tied for 12th in home runs (35). Individually, senior Katie Schroeder is 15th in runs per game (1.15), 28th in on base percentage (.536) and 29th in batting average (.438). Senior Samantha Camuso is also listed in the top 30 nationally in three categories, coming in at 16th in slugging (.861), tied for 20th with three triples and tied for 23rd in batting average (.444). Sophomore Jessica Hall is tied for seventh with three saves, freshman Stephany LaRosa is tied for 20th with three triples and senior Dani Yudin is 22nd with a .540 on base percentage.

NEWS AND NOTES
Along with their Pac-12-best .381 batting average (through March 27), the Bruins are also first in the conference in slugging (.633), hits (309), doubles (55) and total bases (513). UCLA is in the midst of its second, 10-game winning streak of the season, having won its first 10 contests of 2012 ... the Bruins are 18-0 this season when scoring at least six runs (have won 85 straight when scoring 6+) and 15-0 when limiting their opponent to two runs or fewer ... the Bruins are 14-0 when leading after five innings and 13-0 when leading after six. Since 2008, UCLA is 136-1 when ahead after five (only loss vs. Florida, 2/25/11) and 125-1 when ahead after six (Washington, 4/23/11) ... UCLA is 8-0 when it doesn't make an error in a game and 20-1 when its opponent makes a miscue ... the Bruins are 16-2 when hitting a home run ... 21 of the Bruins' 43 home runs have been solo shots. 14 of the 34 have been leadoff homers. The third inning has been the best for homers, as the Bruins have 13 ... senior Katie Schroeder is in the UCLA career top 10 in five categories, ranking fourth in runs scored (175) and walks (103), tied for fourth in stolen bases (43), fifth in hit by pitches (26) and tied for sixth in batting average (.374). Senior Andrea Harrison is listed six times, coming in at fourth in slugging (.658), fifth in home runs (47), tied for sixth in runs batted in (167), seventh in total bases (413) and tied for seventh in doubles (45) and hit by pitches (17). Senior Dani Yudin is fifth in walks (101), tied for seventh in hit by pitches (17) and eighth in on base percentage (.440), while senior Samantha Camuso is 10th in slugging (.590) ... freshman Ally Carda has earned a win and produced a pair of hits in the same game five times (Loyola Marymount, Fordham, Pittsburgh, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly) ... Camuso has two separate hitting streaks of seven and one of five ... sophomore Talee Snow has tied a career high by reaching base in 10 straight games, recording hits in nine of those contests ... the month of March has been a great one for freshman Stephany LaRosa, who has hit eight of her team-best nine homers and driven in 22 of her team-high 32 runs this month ... sophomore Jessica Hall has not allowed an earned run in 15 2/3 consecutive innings and only three earned runs in her last 30 2/3 (0.68 ERA) ... Harrison went 7-for-13 (.538) during the Central Coast trip with five RBI and a pair of three-hit contests ... junior B.B. Bates has hits in 13 of her last 14 games, including eight base hits in her last nine at-bats ... sophomore Kellie Fox has hits in nine of her last 11 contests, posting a pair of multiple-hit games at Cal Poly on Tuesday (five hits total) ... Schroeder has reached base in 27 of 29 contests ... sophomore Alyssa Tiumalu has reached base in four straight games (2-for-6, three walks, 1 HBP) ... Yudin has drawn a walk in 18 of her 29 games.

SCOUTING THE OREGON STATE BEAVERS
The Beavers ride into Easton Stadium on a four-game winning streak, beating Oregon 5-4 and 7-1 in the final two contests of their Pac-12 opening series and sweeping Cal State Northridge (13-1 and 5-1) in a doubleheader on Wednesday. Oregon State is 3-2 against teams currently ranked in the Top 25, winning two of three against the Ducks, beating North Carolina and losing to New Mexico. As a team, the Beavers are hitting .290 with 27 home runs and 38 stolen bases, averaging 6.4 runs per game. Four players are hitting over .300, led by junior Elizabeth Santana's .352 mark with a team-high 25 runs batted in. Junior Desiree Beltran is batting .337 with five homers and 22 RBI, freshman Dani Gilmore is hitting .310 with five homers, 21 RBI and a team-best 10 stolen bases and senior Paige Hall is batting .303 with a team-high six homers and 24 RBI. In the circle, four different pitchers have seen action. Hall is a team-best 11-1 with three saves, a 1.75 earned run average and 47 strikeouts in 60 innings. Freshman Aryn Feickert is 2-0 with a 1.03 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings, junior Marina Demore is 7-1 with a 2.46 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 79 2/3 innings and junior Tina Andreana is 5-6 with a 3.72 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 64 innings.

THE MATCHUP: BRUINS VS. BEAVERS
UCLA has won 10 straight matchups with Oregon State, outscoring the Beavers 79-19 with four mercy-rule wins. The Bruins lead the all-time series 84-10 and are 42-3 against Oregon State at Easton Stadium. Last season, UCLA recorded 6-2, 9-1 (6 innings) and 12-2 (5) victories April 1-3 in Westwood. Oregon State's last win in the series was a 5-3 triumph in Corvallis on May 9, 2008 and its last victory at UCLA was a 2-0 decision on April 21, 2006 (UCLA eight-game winning streak).

BRUIN PLAYERS VS. OREGON STATE
Seniors Andrea Harrison and Katie Schroeder have enjoyed playing against Oregon State during their three previous seasons. Harrison is batting .484 (15-31) with one home run and 10 runs batted in versus the Beavers. Last season, she went 8-for-9 (.889) with a homer, six RBI and five runs in the three-game sweep. Schroeder is 13-for-28 (.464) against Oregon State with two homers and seven RBI. She also had a great series last year, going 6-for-10 (.600) with four runs and three RBI. In the circle, sophomore Jessica Hall earned one of the wins in 2011, allowing only one run and three hits in a five-inning effort.
