The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team fell to fifth place at the PING/ASU Invitational Saturday at the Karsten Course in Tempe, Ariz. Additionally, senior Tiffany Joh was tied for 20th place at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Palm Springs, Calif.
The Bruins posted a team score of 300 (+12) and were fifth after 36 holes at 597 (+21). Arizona State was the 36-hole leader at 585 (+9), followed by Purdue at 590 (+14). Oklahoma State was in third place at 592 (+16) and USC was fourth at 593 (+17).
Individually, sophomore Glory Yang led the Bruins in the second round with a score of 73 (+1) and was tied for eighth at 147 (+3). Tied for 17th at 150 (+6) were freshman Stephanie Kono and senior Ryann O'Toole. In the second round, Kono shot a 75 (+3) and O'Toole carded a 77 (+5). Tied for 40th were sophomore Maria Jose Uribe and junior Sydnee Michaels at 154 (+10). Both players posted three-over par scores of 75. Playing as an individual, freshman Brianna Do was tied for 80th place after posting an 82 on Saturday.
In the third round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship, senior Tiffnay Joh posted a one-over par score of 73 and was tied for 20th place at 218 (+3). Joh played the outward nine in two-under par 34 before making just one birdie and three bogeys down the stretch.
