A record-breaking theme continues for the UCLA swimming and diving team as more school records fell on the third night of competition at the Pac-10 Championships in Federal Way, WA. On Friday night, Lauren Hall and the 400 medley relay set new school marks as the Bruins posted 10 new or improved NCAA B qualifying times, 19 season-bests and nine lifetime-best swims.

Hall broke her own record in the 400 IM with a lifetime-best and improved NCAA swim of 4:07.38. That time was just .05 seconds shy of the NCAA auto standard and broke her previous record of 4:08.71, set last year at the Pac-10 meet. Hall finished fourth overall for her highest finish at the conference meet during her four years at UCLA.

The 400 medley relay team of Emily Andelson (53.92 split), Brittany Beauchan (1:00.79 split), Yasi Jahanshahi (52.35 split) and Cynthia Fascella (48.77 split) finished sixth overall as the foursome posted a season-best and improved NCAA time of 3:35.83. That time broke the previous record of 3:37.70, set last year at the Pac-10 meet.

Also in the 400 IM, sophomore Karoline Sanderud had a career day in the B final as she swam the No. 2 mark in school history, 4:13.25. That time improved her NCAA qualifier and was a lifetime-best swim. Senior Dani Milligan, also in the B final, swam a season-best and improved NCAA time of 4:13.87. In the C final, Lauren Baker swam a lifetime-best and NCAA qualifier of 4:19.65 to finish 19th overall.

Jahanshahi also had a career day in the pool. In the prelims of the 100 fly, Jahanshahi swam 53.38 to tie for eighth. A swim-off between her and Stanford's Sam Woodward was needed to see who would compete in the A final, and despite swimming a lifetime-best of 52.81, Woodward edged Jahanshahi and took a spot in the championship final. Jahanshahi came back in the night session to swim another lifetime-best of 52.73 to finish 10th overall in the B final. That mark is also an improved NCAA B cut.

Also in the B final, junior Bianca Casciari swam 53.52 for 13th-place, while sophomore Stephanie Christofferson was 15th 54.19.

Senior Alex Sullivan, competing in her first career A final, finished fifth overall in a time of 1:46.80. Freshman Ting Quah was 15th in the B final (1:48.30), while senior Sam Vanden Berge (1:47.92) and Fascella (1:48.45) finished 17th and 20th, respectively, in the C final. Both Vanden Berge and Fascella posted season-best and NCAA B cut times.

In the 100 breast A final, Beauchan finished fifth overall with a time of 1:01.04. In the C final, junior Kelsey Louden was 18th (1:03.84) and freshman Emily Weir was 21st (1:04.21).

Andelson had a career day in the 100 back as she swam the No. 4 time in school history, 53.82, to finish 10th overall in the B final. That time was a lifetime-best and improved NCAA qualifier. Freshman Anna Senko was 16th with a time of 54.66. In the C final, sophomore Andrea Reigel was 17th with a season-best and improved NCAA mark of 54.31, sophomore Laurence Delisle was 18th (54.92), junior Annie Stefanec was 21st (55.17) and freshman Jesse Bergman finished 23rd (55.74).

Freshman Paulina Guzman had a huge day on three-meter springboard as she finished fifth overall with a lifetime-best score of 321.00. She was just .20 points shy of fourth-place. Guzman was eighth after the prelim round (294.25) and had a huge final round of dives to move up to fifth-place.

The Pac-10 Championships will wrap up on Saturday with the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, platform diving and the 400 freestyle relay.
