Woodland, Calif. - The UCLA men's water polo team has earned a No. 3 MPSF Tournament seed, the MPSF conference announced this afternoon. The Bruins are seeded behind USC and California, respectively, and will face either UC Irvine, Pacific, Long Beach State or Pepperdine in their first-round match on Friday, Nov. 24.
The 2006 MPSF Tournament, hosted by UC Irvine, features three first-round contests on Friday, Nov. 24. USC, California and UCLA's first-round opponents will be determined after Sunday's final regular-season games. The Bruins' first-round match will begin Friday, Nov. 24, at 1 p.m. The winner of that match will face the winner of the California-No. 7 seed game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
UCLA (14-5, 5-2 MPSF) hosts UC Irvine (10-17, 2-5) at the Sunset Canyon Recreation Center on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. The Bruins' final regular-season match also marks the last home contest for UCLA's seven seniors. A special ceremony honoring the senior class will take place prior to the game.
