When the UCLA Men's Basketball 2011-12 season officially gets underway Friday night against Loyola Marymount, it will be in a building that the program called home from 1959-65 - the Los Angeles Sports Arena - situated just 12 miles from the UCLA campus. History shows that the building has been kind to the Bruins; they won the NCAA Championships there in 1968 and 1972.
But the Sports Arena has been without a primary tenant for more than five years. So what has been done to restore the building and honor its past while turning it into the main stop on the Bruin Road Show this year? UCLABruins.com's Ralph Irvin has details ...
