Two UCLA Men's Water Polo Players to Compete at FINA World Junior Championships

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. - UCLA men's water polo sophomores Scott Davidson and Chay Lapin will compete for Team USA at the 2007 FINA Junior World Championships at the USA Water Polo National Training Center beginning Saturday, Aug. 18.

Both players spent two weeks with the junior national team training in Europe this summer. Lapin, the Bruins' starting goalkeeper in 2006, was named the outstanding goalkeeper of the Tatras Cup, stopping 15 Croatian attempts in the final match.

Both Lapin and Davidson helped lead Team USA to a second place finish at the Tatras Cup in Slovakia and a fourth place finish at the Len Tournament in Croatia.

Lapin, Davidson and the rest of Team USA kicks off their schedule Saturday, Aug. 18 against Jamaica at 7 p.m. (PST) in Los Alamitos, Calif.
