WOODLAND, Calif. - Senior Priscilla Orozco has earned MPSF Player of the Week acclaim for the second consecutive week, as announced Monday afternoon by the conference office. Orozco scored a career-high five goals to lead UCLA past UC Irvine, 7-5, on Saturday.
Orozco, an attacker from Commerce, Calif., has scored in each of UCLA's 14 games this season, helping the Bruins open the year with a 13-1 record. She is tied for fourth in among MPSF players with a 2.14 goals per game average. Orozco has scored a team-leading 30 goals in 14 matches.
Last week, Orozco captured MPSF Player of the Week honors after having scored seven goals in UCLA's four wins at the Triton Invitational during the previous weekend. The Bruins won the tournament, notching victories against Santa Clara, Hartwick, San Diego State and Loyola Marymount.
No. 3 UCLA (13-1, 0-0 MPSF) enters the week preparing to face No. 5 Hawai'i (3-2, 1-0 MPSF) on Thursday evening. Game time at Spieker Aquatics Center is slated for 6 p.m. UCLA will compete in the UC Irvine Invitational this weekend, playing two games on Saturday and two more on Sunday.
