Katie Nelson Named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Senior swimmer Katie Nelson (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo HS) of the UCLA swimming & diving team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 12-19.

Nelson repeated as the 1650 Freestyle champion on Saturday night at the Pac-10 Championships in Long Beach, Calif., swimming just off her lifetime-best in a time of 16:09.08. She won the race by nearly six seconds. Nelson's time was an NCAA automatic qualifier, guaranteeing her a spot at the NCAA Championships in March. The time also moved her to No. 4 in the country.

This is Nelson's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and second of her career.
