Los Angeles - The No. 3-ranked UCLA women's soccer team rallied from a one-goal deficit to come back and beat local rival Loyola Marymount, 3-2 Sunday in a non-conference match at LMU's Sullivan Field. With the victory, the Bruins improve to 8-2-0 on the season, while the Lions fall to 6-3-3.

LMU took a 1-0 lead just before halftime when Lori Sims collected a cross from Shari Nishikawa, blasting a 10-yard shot that beat UCLA goalkeeper Sarah Lombardo.

The Lions owned a 1-0 lead at the half, however the Bruins answered at the 49:56 mark of the second half when forward Kim Devine took advantage of a deflection in front of the net to tie the game at 1-1. Whitney Jones picked up an assist on the play.

UCLA took its first lead of the game when Sarah-Gayle Swanson scored in the 80th minute of play on an assist from Allie True. Less than two minutes later however, the Lions came back to tie things up at 2-2 following a goal from LMU midfielder Myka Peck. Nishikawa picked up her second assist of the afternoon on the play.

UCLA took a 3-2 lead and didn't look back, as True netted the game-winner on an unassisted goal in the 84th minute of play.

UCLA opens up Pac-10 play this week when the Bruins host No. 6 Cal on Friday at Drake Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m. and No. 1 Stanford on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Sunday's match will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis by Fox Sports Net.
