Seattle, Wash. - Singles wins by UCLA's trio of talented freshmen proved to be the difference on Sunday, as the sixth-ranked Bruin men's tennis team notched a 4-3 victory over No. 10 Florida in a consolation match at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoors at the Seattle Tennis Club.

UCLA (9-1) got things started in doubles, claiming the point with wins at court Nos. 1 and 3. The Bruins posted a big upset at the No. 1 spot, as Alex Brigham and Amit Inbar notched an 8-2 victory over 15th-ranked Alexandre Lacroix and Nassim Slilam. UCLA followed up that win with an 8-5 victory at the No. 3 spot, where Warren Hardie and Daniel Kosakowski downed Billy Federhofer and Bob van Overbeek.

Freshman Adrien Puget continued his amazing play at the Indoors on Sunday, giving UCLA a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Spencer Newman at court No. 5. With the win, Puget, who never lost more than three games in any match in Seattle, upped his winning streak to seven in a row.

After the Gators (7-3) posted a pair of straight-set wins at court Nos. 3 and 2 to tie the dual match at 2-2, Kosakowski then gave the Bruins the lead again with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Lacroix at court the No. 1 position. It marked Kosakowski's first win over a top 10 opponent, as Lacroix is currently ranked No. 9 in the latest ITA Rankings.

Despite Kosakowski's impressive win, Florida managed to tie the match up once again, as Federhofer won a thrilling second-set tiebreaker over Hardie at court No. 6 to tie things up at 3-3.

Federhofer's win meant that Sunday's dual would be decided at court No. 4, where UCLA freshman Clay Thompson was in a third set with van Overbeek, who is currently ranked No. 74 nationally. Thompson, who clinched a 4-3 win over Baylor earlier this year in a similar situation, came through for the Bruins once again, downing van Overbeek, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 to give UCLA the 4-3 win.

Next up for UCLA is a showdown with Pac-10 rival Stanford on Friday at 1:30 p.m. That match will be at UCLA's Los Angeles Tennis Center.
