Six Bruins Receive All-America Honors

The American Water Polo Coaches Association announced its 2002 All-America team. Six Bruins were named to the All-America team, as voted on by national coaches. First team selections were junior Robin Beauregard and freshman Amber Stachowski. Senior Kelly Heuchan and junior Jaime Hipp were second team selections. And, sophomores Natalie Golda and Thalia Munro received honorable mention.

Beauregard (Huntington Beach, CA/Marina HS) scored 28 goals this season in addition to 21 assists and 28 steals. She was named to both the NCAA and MPSF All-Tournament teams for the second consecutive year. Beauregard was also a 2002 All-MPSF selection. This is her third All-America honor.

Golda (La Habra, CA/Rosary HS) co-led the team in scoring at 37 goals with 12 assists and eight steals. She was named to both the NCAA and MPSF All-Tournament teams.

Heuchan (Perth, AUS/U. of Western Australia) co-led the team in scoring at 37 goals and had 20 assists and 31 steals. She was named to both the NCAA and MPSF All-Tournament teams and was also named All-MPSF. This is Heuchan's third All-America honor.

Hipp (Fresno, CA/Edison HS) had 191 saves this season and a goals against average of 4.003. She was named to both the NCAA and MPSF All-Tournament teams and was also named All-MPSF. This is Hipp's third All-America selection.

Munro (Santa Barbara, CA/Santa Barbara HS) led the team in assists (23), scored 26 goals and had 30 steals this season. She was named to the NCAA and All-Tournament teams and was also named All-MPSF.

Stachowski (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA/Capistrano Valley HS) led the Bruins in steals (39) and field saves (6) while scoring 29 goals. She was named to both the NCAA and MPSF All-Tournament teams and was named All-MPSF.
