Sophomore Ryann Krais has been named to one of the ESPN Academic All-District teams, CoSIDA announced on Thursday. Krais, a heptathlete and hurdler for the Bruins, was named a second-team honoree for her success on the track and in the classroom.
An undeclared major, Krais has a cumulative gpa of 3.75 while trying to balance training for eight different track and field events. A two-time NCAA All-American, Krais will be competing for her third honor next week at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, OR. She heads into the meet ranked 17th in the nation for the heptathlon.
The Pac-10 was well represented on this year's All-District honorees as 10 student-athletes earned first or second-team status. Krais was one of only two sophomores in UCLA's region on the 20 person list to earn All-District honors this season.
