Sophomore Adrien Puget (Le Haillan, France/Hector Berlioz) of the UCLA men's tennis team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Apr. 16-22.
Puget won the deciding singles match, helping the fifth-ranked UCLA men's tennis team clinch a 4-3 road win over top-ranked and undefeated USC last Friday afternoon at the Marks Tennis Stadium. With the dual match tied at 3-3, Puget, who was ranked No. 61 nationally, posted a 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-2 victory over 43rd-ranked Yannick Hanfmann at court No. 5. With the win, UCLA snapped the Trojan's 45-match winning streak, which dated back to last season. At 7-0 in conference play, UCLA finished the regular season as the lone undefeated team in the Pac-12 heading into this week's conference tournament in Ojai.
This is Puget's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
