Three-time NCAA Champion UCLA will host the 16th Annual Pacific Soccer Classic, presented by Big 5 Sporting Goods on October 26 and October 28 at Frank W. Marshall Field at Drake Stadium on the UCLA campus.
The Bruin men, ranked No. 20 in the Soccer America national poll, will play host to southern power and 12th-ranked South Carolina, northern neighbor St. Mary's and Southern California rival Cal State Fullerton in the two-day tournament. Cal State Fullerton and South Carolina kick off the tournament on Friday, Oct. 26 with a 12:00 pm game, followed by UCLA's game against St. Mary's at 3:00 pm. On Sunday, Oct. 28, Cal State Fullerton will face St. Mary's at 11:00 am, and UCLA will face South Carolina at 2:00 pm in the marquee matchup of the tournament.
The annual Classic has long been an accurate indicator of NCAA Tournament success. This event has produced five national champions (UCLA in 1985, 1990 and 1997, Indiana in 1998, Duke in 1986), three second-place finishers and five other NCAA semifinalists. In each of the 15 previous tournaments, at least one team from the Classic has earned an NCAA Tournament berth.
UCLA has won the Classic a record 11 times, including the last four consecutive.
Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for youth. For additional ticket information, please call the UCLA Central Ticket Office at 310-UCLA-WIN.
