WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA senior forward Kim Devine has been named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Aug. 31- Sept. 6, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Devine, from Laguna Niguel, Calif., posted a hat trick in UCLA's 6-1 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 5. Devine scored all three goals in a span of less than three and a half minutes. She scored her first goal of the season at the 54:06 mark, her second just 38 seconds later (54:44) and scored again at 57:31.
The Bruins (3-0-0 overall) travel to Charlottesville, Va., this week for the UVA Soccer Classic, where they will face No. 4 Virginia on Friday and Maryland on Sunday. This is Devine's first Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and UCLA's 13th weekly honor all-time.
UCLA has swept the first two Pac-10 weekly honors of 2004, as teammate Danesha Adams claimed the award a week ago.
