UCLA's Thalia Munro has been named this week's MPSF Mikasa Player of the week. She helped lead her team to the championship of the UC Santa Barbara Gaucho Invitational last weekend, as she scored in every game, totaling seven for the tournament.
This past week, 2004 Olympic Team member Thalia Munro helped lead the Bruins to first place in the UC Santa Barbara Gaucho Invitational. UCLA's path to the championship included victories over No. 19 Princeton, No. 18 Arizona State, No. 9 Hawaii, No. 4 Loyola Marymount, and No. 2 USC.
Munro scored at least one goal in every game including one against Princeton, one against Arizona State, one against Hawaii, two against Loyola Marymount, and two against USC. She scored a goal in the fourth quarter of the USC game to tie the game and carry it to overtime. In the overtime, she scored another goal.
Currently, Munro is the second leading scorer on the Bruins, with 21 total goals. Also, she is third on the team in steals, and second on the team in assists. She has played in every game this season. So far with her leadership, UCLA is undefeated with a 14-0 record, 2-0 in the MPSF.
