Ato Boldon Wins 200m Bronze Medal

Sydney, Australia - Ato Boldon became the first UCLA athlete to win multiple medals at the 2000 Olympics Games when he captured the bronze medal in the 200m.

Boldon, who hails from Trinidad & Tobago and is coached by UCLA sprints coach John Smith, finished in a time of 20.20. The gold medal winner was Konstadinos Kederis of Greece with a time of 20.09 (Greek national record). In second place, winning the silver, was Darren Campbell of Great Britain, 20.14.

In the 200m semis, Boldon placed third in heat one, running a 20.20.

It is Boldon's second medal of the 2000 Games and the fourth medal in his career. Earlier, he won the silver by placing second in the 100m.
