Bruins Dominate Pac-10 All-Conference Gymnastics Team

April 10, 2000

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Two UCLA gymnasts earned Pac-10 All-Conference nods in every event and the all-around, as three Bruins combined to win a combined 10 all-conference awards. No other school had more than two Pac-10 selections.

Junior Mohini Bhardwaj (Cincinnati, OH) accomplished a first when she became the first gymnast in Pac-10 history to earn All-Pac-10 honors in the all-around and all four events. Bhardwaj won the Pac-10 all-around, vault and floor titles last month at the conference championships.

Seniors Lena Degteva (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) and Heidi Moneymaker (Santa Rosa, CA) were selected on two events apiece. Degteva earned honors on vault and bars, as well as the all-around for the second consecutive year. Moneymaker, the Pac-10 Gymnast of the Year, was chosen on beam and floor.

All-Conference honors are based on Regional Qualifying Score (50%) and Pac-10 Championship score (50%).
