The UCLA men's and women's track and field teams will send a small group of athletes representing all event groups up the 405 Freeway to compete at the Northridge Invitational this weekend. Friday's portion of the meet will feature the hammer, while the rest of the meet will be contested on Saturday.
The men's team will send distance runners, hurdlers and jumpers to Northridge. Most of the distance runners will compete in the 1500m, while the Bruins will have one entry in both the 400m and 5000m. UCLA will have a competitor in each of the hurdle races and athletes in the high, long and triple jump.
The women's team will have athletes in all four disciplines - sprints, distance, jumps and throws. Several distance runners will again compete in off events as four of them will run in the 200m and 400m races. The Bruins will have competitors in the high, long and triple, as well as the shot put, discus and hammer throw.
