LOS ANGELES - UCLA softball head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez has announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Destiny Rodino to a National Letter of Intent. Rodino will begin her senior season at Hart High School in Newhall, Calif. this spring.

"I look forward to getting Destiny in a Bruin uniform," Inouye-Perez said. "Destiny has an incredible work ethic and she loves to compete. She will make us stronger in the circle."

Rodino was named co-Pitcher of the Year by the Los Angeles Times after going 24-5 with a 0.41 earned run average during her junior season. She threw 13 shutouts and struck out 229 in 190 innings in leading Hart High School to the CIF quarterfinals. Rodino was also an All-Foothill League and All-State first-team selection in 2008.
