Golfers Place Second at The Prestige at PGA West

The sixth-ranked UCLA men's golf team finished second at the Prestige at PGA West Tuesday, despite playing the Greg Norman Course in 19-under par over the last 36 holes.

Seventh-ranked Stanford, the 36-hole leader, held on to win its second tournament of the year by two shots and snap UCLA's string of three consecutive team titles in this event. The Cardinal posted a final round score of 280 (-8) for a 54-hole total of 849 (-15). The Bruins were two shots behind at 851 (-13) following a final round score of 281 (-7), UC Irvine finished third at 859 (-3), followed by Minnesota at 870 (+6) and Kansas at 877 (+13).

Individually for UCLA, sophomore Lucas Lee recorded his second straight Top 5 finish, tying for second place at six-under par 210 after firing a final round 69 (-3). Sophomore Erik Flores and senior Chris Heintz each posted final round scores of 70 (-2). Flores tied for 10th place at 213 (-3) and Heintz tied for 15th at even par 216. Junior Kevin Chappell posted a 74 (+2) on Tuesday and tied for 20th at 217 (+1) and junior Daniel Im tied for 38th at 225 (+9).

Stanford's Zack Miller won medalist honors after finishing with a 54-hole total of 207 (-9) following a final round of 69 (-3). UC Irvine's Jay Choe, the second round leader, tied for second with Lee.
