    Post-Game Notes

  • UCLA improves its record to 3-0. Ohio State drops to 1-1.

  • The series between the two schools is now tied at 4-4-1.

  • Kicker Chris Griffith's 49-yard field goal in the second half was a career long, besting his previous career long (48 yards in 1999) by one yard.

  • That field goal moved Griffith into a tie for sixth place (with Louis Perez) on UCLA's all-time made field goal list with 29.

  • Cory Paus had 262 yards passing today, nearly equaling his season total of 283 coming into today's game.

  • Ricky Bryant's touchdown from a blocked punt in the first quarter was the first allowed by UCLA since USC's Bruce Luizzi did it in 1992.

  • With 121 yards allowed rushing and 45 yards allowed passing (166 total), the UCLA defense gave up the fewest yards since allowing 153 against Northeast Louisiana in 1996.

  • The 45 yards allowed passing were the least amount of passing yards given up by a UCLA defense since allowing 0 in a 1994 game against Oregon State.

  • After allowing just six points today, the Bruins have given up a total of 40 points after the first three games, the fewest since allowing 31 points after the first three games of 1992.

  • The six points allowed by the Bruin defense were the fewest in a game since giving up 3 at Texas in 1997.

  • For Ohio State, the six points scored were the fewest scored since being shut out 28-0 at Michigan in 1993.

  • UCLA student Tesz Milan sang "America the Beautiful" at halftime.

  • Today's attendance was 73,723.
