For the first time since 2000, the UCLA Bruins and the USC Trojans will headline the annual John R. Wooden Classic. The 13th annual college basketball doubleheader is December 9, 2006 at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.
This announcement marks the 10th appearance, fourth in a row, by the Bruins who have a record of 5-3 going into this Saturday's match-up against Nevada. The Trojans have appeared three times in the Classic, last being 2002 against Missouri, and have a record of 1-2. The two teams have never played each other in a Wooden Classic. Their opponents for 2006 will be announced at a later date.
Priority order forms for the 2006 Wooden Classic will be available online Saturday, December 10 at 8 a.m. Fans have until February 15 to return order forms with payment.
