UCLA senior midfielder Sasha Victorine, from Corona, CA, has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and the SoccerTimes.com Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
Victorine led the Bruins to a 3-1 victory at San Francisco by recording two goals and an assist. The win snapped USF's four game winning streak. Victorine ignited UCLA's effort with his first goal at 1:26 of the opening half. He assisted on the game-winner later in the half and scored an insurance goal early in the second half.
Victorine, a finalist for the Hermann Trophy, leads the 5-1 Bruins with five goals and two assists this season. Victorine was also a member of the U.S. U-23 National Team which won the bronze medal at the 1999 Pan American Games. This is the first time in his career he has been selected the Player of the Week by either the MPSF or SoccerTimes.com, and he is the first Bruin to receive this honor this season.
