Basketball Intern

Matt Geniesse is in his third season working in the UCLA men's basketball office and his second as an office intern. In 2001-2002, Geniesse was a volunteer assistant. He assists in preparing scouting reports, practice evaluations, and is in charge of editing game film.

Geniesse came to UCLA from the University of Great Falls in Montana where he played and assisted his father, then-men's head basketball coach Mike Geniesse. Matt was an All-Conference basketball player at the University of Great Falls. His father, Mike, is now the head coach at Miami-Yoder HS in Colorado Springs, CO.

In spring 2002, Matt represented UCLA in Beijing, China at the Chinese Basketball Association's adidas camp. He was one of four Div. I representatives to attend.

A native of Denver, CO, he attended Sheridan HS where he was a first-team All-State basketball player and holds a CO State record for scoring 55 points in a single game.

Matt and his wife Julie have a daughter, Sophie, born Feb. 26.
