Entered UCLA having played just four years of organized basketball ... like his teammate Alfred Aboya, Mbah a Moute is also from the African republic of Cameroon ... in Cameroon, he is the prince in his village Bafia (Bia Messe).
2005 - Led Montverde in scoring (18.4) and rebounding (7.3), averaged 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocked shots, and shot 54.0 from the field, 51.0 (35-68) from three-point range and 61.0 from the foul line ... Montverde (21-6) ranked No. 2 in the Orlando Sentinel Super 6 poll and won 15 of its final 17 games, including victories over Edgewater, which was ranked No. 1 in Class 6A, twice in the same week ... selected to All-Tournament teams in the Iolani Classic and Montverde Academy Invitational ... Mbah a Moute played in the Commonwealth Classic All-Star game on April 1 in Richmond, Va. (Mbah a Moute was a member of a national team of All-Stars who played a Virginia All-Star squad) and was a finalist for the Nike Hoops Summit All-Star game on April 9. 2004 - As a junior honor roll student at the Montverde Academy, he averaged 12.0 points a game for coach Kevin Sutton.
