Under coach Dick Dornan, Ellis was a two-year (2003-04) letterman and starter at Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, Calif. ... in 2004, he was Crespi's captain and team MVP and earned All-Mission League honors ... as a senior, Ellis averaged 16.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.9 steals per game and shot 78.0 percent from the foul line and 52.0 percent from the field ... also a two-year volleyball letterman as an outside hitter under coach Raissa Adolphe.
