Mike Babcock is in his fifth season with the UCLA football program and second as an undergraduate assistant coach. He works primarily with the defensive coaches and runs with the Bruin scout teams. Mike also has a hand in the development of UCLA’s special teams, as well as scouting reports on upcoming opponents.
Babcock entered UCLA in the Fall of 1997 and was a member of the Bruin football team, playing three seasons as an inside linebacker. He began working as a member of the coaching staff last season.
In 1997, he graduated from Miramonte High School in Orinda, CA where he had played football for coach Floyd Burnsed. A two-year varsity performer, Babcock earned first-team all-league honors in his senior season. He was also a member of the baseball team.
