UCLA - One of the top offensive linemen on the West Coast, Polak will line up at right guard this season after spending most of his career at tackle...A candidate for post-season honors entering his third year as a starter, he and fellow senior Oscar Cabrera are the Bruins’ most experienced linemen and will be expected to provide leadership for a young group...He is a big, strong, physical player who has the ability to be a dominant lineman...A very good run blocker with a bruising style...An extremely smart lineman with very quick feet...His shift to guard enables the team to move the line of scrimmage and control the middle of opposing defenses.

1999 - Battled a series of nagging injuries throughout the season, but saw action in all 11 games...On the field for at least 40 plays in all but the Fresno State contest...Played at least 60 snaps on eight occasions, including 70 versus Washington, 69 against Arizona, 68 at Stanford and 66 at USC...Started the first nine games of the season at right tackle...Moved over to start at right guard for the final two games after a series of season-ending injuries to his fellow offensive linemen...Named winner of UCLA’s Jerry Long “Heart” Award.

1998 - Polak did an outstanding job in his first year as a starter at right tackle ...The starter in all 12 games, Polak allowed just one sack and 9.5 hurries in 11 regular-season games, with only four in his final 10 games...He had 344 pass-blocking opportunities and 20 knockdown blocks, including four at Washington and three each versus Arizona, Stanford and Miami...He played at least 59 snaps in each of the last 10 games of the year, including 83 versus Oregon, 79 at Oregon State, 78 versus Wisconsin, 75 at Miami and 74 at California...He also played 68 versus Stanford and 66 against USC despite playing with a sprained right knee and ankle.

1997 - Earned a backup role at guard as a true freshman, appearing in 10 of 12 games...Did not play in the opener at Washington State and versus USC... Played 30 snaps versus Houston, 27 at Texas, 11 against Arizona and 10 versus Tennessee in his debut...Also participated on special teams.
