1999 — As a true freshman, Williams was UCLA’s top 800m runner … In Junior competition, she won the 800m at the Pan Am (2:05.41) and U. S. (2:07.60) meets … At the NCAA Outdoor, Williams earned All-America by running the opening leg on UCLA’s 4 X 400m relay that placed third (3:29.41, then a school record) … Also qualified in the 800m … At the Pac-10, Williams tied for fourth (2:08.28) in the 800m and ran the second leg on UCLA’s 4 X 400m relay that placed second (3:34.28) … Ran an 800m personal-best of 2:05.23 (No. 3 in school history, No. 29 on U. High School — Williams was the fourth fastest senior prepster in the U. S. in 1998 in the 800m with a high school personal-best 2:09.21 in winning the NY State title and had a long jump personal-best of 19-5.25 (No. 17 U. S. prep list) … Best times of 53.87 (400m) and 2:12.57 as a junior in 1997 and 54.11 as a sophomore … As a junior she was second in the 400m (53.87, personal-best) at the U. S.
