How old were you when you first started playing your sport?
I started swimming when I was seven, but it wasn't until my sophomore year in high school that I got serious about swimming.

Name your favorite former UCLA player and why:
Cyndi Gallagher because she is the coolest coach ever, and she can relate to us since she swam on the UCLA swim team too

What has been the highlight of your athletic career?
The highlight of my athletic career was competing at the United States Olympic Trials.

Where was the toughest place you've ever competed?
The worst pool I ever swam in had mold on the walls, and the water was green.

Who was the best swimmer you've competed against?
The best swimmer that I have swum against would probably have to be Jenny Thompson.

Do you have any pre-meet superstitions or rituals?
Right before every race I stretch my arms on the blocks and jump up and down a few times to get my blood flowing.

What was your most embarrassing moment in a race?
Once I swam without a cap. Another time my goggles flipped over and blinded me during a race, and I hit the lane line a few times.

What is the best Christmas or birthday present you ever received?
A trip to Hawaii

Going on vacation with my family all over the world

I love New Year's because it's after Christmas and six days before my birthday.
