Five UCLA volleyball players were named to various All-MPSF men's volleyball teams, the conference announced Thursday.
Led by first-team selection Gonzalo Quiroga, the Bruins (20-10, 16-8) secured spots for five of their seven starters, all juniors. Spencer Rowe and Dane Worley were named to the second team and Evan Mottram and Robart Page received honorable mention honors.
Quiroga led the conference with 51 aces during the regular season, and was 10th in kills per set (3.67) and eighth in points per set (4.42). He led the Bruins with 399 kills and 469.0 points as well as aces. In his first two seasons, Quiroga was named Second-Team All-MPSF.
Rowe hit for a percentage of .466 to rank third in the league. In 2013, he recorded 20 matches in which he hit .400 or better. He also led the Bruins in blocking with 100 total blocks.
Worley ranked ninth in the MPSF with a 0.31 aces per set average and was second on the team with 36 aces. He ranked third on the team with 280 total kills and 3.4 kills per set. He hit .320 for the regular season.
Page made 27 starts and averaged 3.72 points per set, second on the team and 15th in the league. His 3.23 kills per set ranked 14th in the conference.
Mottram led the Bruins with 260 digs and ranked fifth in the MPSF at 0.36 digs per set. He played in all 30 matches this season.
