Redshirt junior Julian Wruck (Brisbane, Australia./Gregory Terrace HS) of the UCLA men's track and field team repeats as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week (June 3-9).
Wruck won his second career NCAA discus championship last Friday in Eugene with a winning mark of 64.94m (213-1). Wruck, who won the NCAA title as a freshman at Texas Tech, qualified for the finals in second place but overtook leader and defending NCAA champion Chad Wright from Nebraska in the fifth round by uncorking a throw of 64.23 (210-8). He put icing on the cake in the final round with his best throw of the night. Wruck's first-place finish gave UCLA 10 points towards its team total, and the Bruins finished the competition in 12th place.
This is Wruck's third UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
