LOS ANGELES – Senior Britta Syverson and junior Meaghan Volker of the UCLA women’s rowing program have earned CRCA All-America honors, as announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.
Syverson has secured first-team All-America honors for the second consecutive season and for the third time in four years. She was honored as a first-team selection in 2012 and as a second-team selection as a freshman in 2010.
Volker has captured second-team All-America acclaim in her first season in the Bruins’ rowing program.
Both Syverson and Volker were both named CRCA Division I All-Region selections in May 2013. Syverson earned a first-team selection while Volker was honored as a second-team selection.
Syverson has become the second three-time All-America selection in UCLA women’s rowing history. Vanessa Teff earned All-America honors from 2006 through 2008. Syverson has become the first two-time first-team All-America honoree in program history.
The UCLA women’s rowing program finished ninth overall at 2013 NCAA Championships, its second-best team finish in program history. The Bruins raced to an eighth place finish at 2012 NCAA Championships.
