Qualifiers Marcos Giron and Mackenzie McDonald worked their way into the men's doubles final on Saturday, notching an 8-5 semifinal win over Oklahoma's Andrew Harris and Dane Webb. Giron and McDonald will take on top-seeded Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese of Tennessee in Sunday's championship match. They are looking to become the fourth UCLA doubles tandem in history to win an All-American championship and first since Marcin Matkowski and Jean-Julien Rojer in 2001.
Senior Clay Thompson also has a chance for a title on Sunday, as he faces Daniil Proskura of Alabama in the consolation singles final. Thompson needed to win two matches on Saturday, downing TCU's Nick Chappell, 7-5, 6-3 and Pepperdine's Alex Sarkissian, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.
