The Bruins return to Pauley Pavilion this week for Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend. UCLA hosts #3 Washington on Friday at 8 p.m., with that contest televised live on Pac-12 Networks. The Bruins then entertain Washington State on Saturday at 7 p.m. Live audio and video will be available for that match at

The Bruins return to the road next weekend, going to the Bay Area to face #6 Stanford on Friday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. and California on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. Both contests will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.

The Bruins have won 42 straight matches when hitting .300 or better, including four times this season ... UCLA had a season-best eight aces at Oregon State on Oct. 12 and tied a year high with 17 blocks versus the Beavers ... nationally, the Bruins are 45th in hitting percentage (.251) and 46th in kills per set (13.79). UCLA is sixth in hitting, kps and assists per set (12.69) among Pac-12 teams ... the Bruins are undefeated this year (9-0) when winning the second set ... UCLA is 7-0 when holding its opponent under a .200 hitting percentage ... the Bruins are eight wins away from 1,200 for the program’s history ... senior Kelly Reeves became the 22nd Bruin to post 1,000 career digs at Oregon State. She now has 1,023 digs, which is 21st all-time. Next up on the UCLA list are Michelle Quon (20th, 1,024), Colby Lyman (19th, 1,025), Ali Daley (18th, 1,026) and Annett Buckner (17th, 1,047) ... redshirt freshman Haley Lawless set a career high with 10 kills at Oregon on Oct. 11. She left Sunday’s game at Arizona State in the first set with a left leg injury ... sophomore Karly Drolson has double figures in digs in seven straight contests, averaging 4.12 digs per set during that stretch. Her career high is 23 at Colorado on Sept. 27 ... freshman Claire Felix had career high totals in kills (14) and hitting percentage (.591) at Oregon State. She committed only one hitting error in 22 attempts ... junior Megan Moenoa posted her first double-double of the season at Arizona last Friday with 20 assists and 12 digs. Over her last four contests, she is averaging 6.80 assists and 2.33 digs per set ... senior Mariana Aquino has at least four kills in seven straight contests, including a career-high 17 at Colorado. In her last three matches, she is hitting .357 ... junior Zoë Nightingale has not committed a hitting error in her last four matches. During that span, she has 17 kills in 41 attempts (.415 hitting percentage), also adding 1.53 blocks per set ... junior Karsta Lowe has double figures in kills in 17 of 18 matches, having reached the 15-kill mark 10 times, including twice last weekend. She also served her first two aces of the year at Arizona State.

Washington (15-1) is 7-1 in Pac-12 play, having won five in a row, including a sweep of California and a five-set victory against Stanford at home last week. The Huskies are hitting .291 as a team, averaging 13.84 kills, 1.95 aces, 13.84 digs and 2.54 blocks per set. Junior Krista Vansant leads the team with 3.96 kps, is second with 2.59 dps and also has a .345 hitting percentage and 18 aces. Junior Kaleigh Nelson is second with 2.66 kps. Senior Jenni Nogueras (6.37 assists per set) and sophomore Katy Beals (5.16) share the setting duties. Senior Jenna Orlandini, who leads the squad with 4.04 dps, is tied for the team high with 22 aces. Sophomores Lianna Sybeldon (1.16) and Melanie Wade (1.04) are each averaging over a block per set. The Bruins lead the all-time series with the Huskies 43-20, as each team won on their home floor a year ago. UCLA beat Washington in four on Oct. 28, while Washington bested UCLA in five in Seattle on Sept. 26. The Bruins have won three straight in Westwood and lead the home series 23-6. Washington’s most recent victory in Los Angeles was a three-set win on Nov. 14, 2009.

Washington State, which plays at USC on Friday, is 15-6 overall and 2-6 in Pac-12 play. The Cougars have dropped three in a row, losing in four against California and in three versus Stanford at home last weekend. Washington State is hitting .240 as a team, averaging 13.36 kills, 1.24 aces, 14.78 digs and 2.28 blocks per set. Freshman Kyra Holt is averaging a team-best 4.01 kps and 29 aces to go with 2.65 dps. Junior Jaicee Harris is second with 2.68 kps and 3.29 dps, while junior Ver’Leea Hardaway is third with 2.62 kps, first with a .366 hitting percentage and second with 0.93 bps. Senior Camryn Irwin (9.81 assists per set) and freshman Haley MacDonald (5.61) share the setting duties. Sophomore Kate Sommer is tops on the squad with 3.67 dps, while senior Marcelina Glab is first with 1.04 bps. The Bruins have won 20 straight matchups with the Cougars and hold a 47-7 all-time advantage. Each of UCLA’s last six victories over Washington State have been sweeps. The Cougars have won just five sets during the Bruins’ 20-match winning streak. Washington State’s last victory in the series was a five-set win in Pullman on Oct. 25, 2002. The Cougars’ most recent win in Westwood was on Oct. 24, 1997 in four sets.
