LOS ANGELES - UCLA Head Football Coach Jim Mora and UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero have agreed on a six-year Head Coach contract extension through the 2019 season. This agreement is subject to approval by the University of California Regents.

“Jim Mora has established himself as one of the preeminent coaches in all of college football,” said Guerrero. “Under his guidance, UCLA football has garnered national recognition for its success on the field, in the classroom and in the community. We are excited about the commitment Jim has made to our student-athletes and this University and feel this extension further demonstrates UCLA’s commitment to building a championship-caliber football program.”

With all but a bowl game remaining in his second season, Mora has led the Bruins to national prominence. With 18 victories in his first two seasons at the helm, the best two-year start (wins) for a UCLA head coach in program history, under his guidance, the Bruins have claimed a Pac-12 South title, been to back-to-back bowl games, posted back-to-back nine-plus win seasons for the first time since 1997-98 and defeated crosstown rival USC in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1997-98.

"I want to thank Dan Guerrero and Chancellor Block for their tremendous support,” said Mora. “This is an exciting time for UCLA football, and the continued commitment our administration has provided gives us every chance to reach our goals. This staff came here with a commitment to win a national championship; that commitment stands."

With Mora at the helm, six Bruins earned All-America honors last season while 42 have been awarded All-Pac-12 accolades over his first two seasons combined. This season alone, Myles Jack was named Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Freshman of the Year and a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award while Anthony Barr is a finalist for the Lombardi, Lott, Butkus and Bednarik awards.

In addition to the Bruins’ individual and team accomplishments on the field this season, UCLA recently announced future home-and-home football series with both the University of Oklahoma and the University of Michigan as well as the selection of ZGF Architects LLP (ZGF), an award-winning architectural, planning, and interior design firm, to design its new Football Training Facility: www.footballfacility.com.

The planned state-of-the-art facility, located on the west side of Spaulding Field, the practice field for the Bruin football team, is intended to house a locker room, athletic training area, strength and conditioning facility, coaches’ offices, team meeting rooms, equipment rooms and video rooms, in addition to several elements that will feature the storied history of UCLA Football.

Home opponents for UCLA in 2014 include Oregon, USC, Stanford, Arizona, Utah and Memphis. For ticket information, click HERE.
