By: UCLA Athletics

Seniors Victor Chavez and Victor Munoz were both included among 50 college seniors who were invited to compete in the 2014 Adidas MLS Combine, as announced by Major League Soccer today. The annual player combine will be held from January 10-14 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Chavez played in 79 matches in his UCLA career, earning All-Pac-12 honors in each of his four seasons, making him the first UCLA player to accomplish the feat since David Estrada did it from 2006-09. After leading the Pac-12 in goals in 2010 with 10, he followed that up with four goals and three assists in 2011 while helping UCLA to the College Cup Semifinals. This past season, Chavez finished second on the team with 23 points (8 g, 7 a). He also finished in the top-10 in the Pac-12 in points (2nd), goals (t-5th) and assists (6th).

Munoz appeared in 55 games in three seasons in Westwood after transferring from Iona after his freshman year. He scored three goals and notched 21 assists in his UCLA career, earning All-Pac-12 honors twice. Munoz finished tied for third on the team in points (1 g, 8 a) in 2013 while tying for the team lead in assists, also good for a tie for third in the Pac-12.

The 50 seniors were selected be a committee consisting of NCAA Division I coaches and MLS representatives. They will be joined at the adidas MLS Player Combine by other seniors, including from lower NCAA divisions, underclassmen who sign Generation adidas contracts and other international invitees.
