Quah, swimming for her native Singapore, swam in five individual events and three relays at the SEA Games (Dec. 12-16) and earned a pair of Gold medals and five Silver medals. Both Gold medals came in relays, the 800 Freestyle Relay (8:13.99) and the 400 Medley Relay (4:13.02). Four of the Silver medals came in individual races (100 Free; 56.54, 200 Free; 2:01.74, 100 Butterfly; 1:00.34, 200 Fly; 2:14.42), while the fifth came in the 400 Free Relay (3:49.00).
Lenz dove in the Platform and 3-Meter events at the USA Diving Winter National Championships (Dec. 18-19). She was 18th in the Platform in both the preliminaries and the semifinals, posting a prelim five-dive score of 205.65 and a 232.25 in the five-dive session in the semis.
The next day in the 3-Meter, Lenz qualified for the semifinals after finishing 16th in the preliminaries with a five-dive total of 244.65. In her five dives in the semis, she scored 260.20 to finish 13th overall, just one spot out of a Top 12 position in the finals.
Monahan began the week with the Youth Olympic Games Qualifier on Dec. 16, finishing 15th in the 3-Meter (352.60). She also participated the following day in the USA Diving Winter Nationals in the 1-Meter (31st, 187.55).
The Bruin swimming and diving teams resume action in 2014 at Spieker Aquatics Center. The Bruin Diving Invitational will take place Jan. 10-12, while Pac-12 foe Utah comes to Westwood on Jan. 11 at 11 a.m.
