LOS ANGELES - Jordan Adams scored a game-high 24 points and Kyle Anderson registered 16 points and 10 rebounds as UCLA defeated Utah, 80-66, before 9,577 in Pauley Pavilion on Saturday afternoon.

Anderson logged his conference-leading 14th double-double of the season, scoring in double figures for the 21st time in 25 games this season. Adams finished in double figures for the 23rd time in 25 games.

UCLA (20-5, 9-3 Pac-12) also received 13 points and five rebounds from Norman Powell.

Delon Wright led visiting Utah (17-8, 6-7) with 16 points, six rebounds and seven assists in 40 minutes.

UCLA evened the season series against Utah after the Utes had handed the Bruins a 71-67 loss in Salt Lake City on Jan. 18.

The Bruins’ victory on Saturday allowed UCLA to move within one game of Pac-12 leader Arizona (23-2, 10-2 Pac-12) in the conference standings with just three weeks remaining in the regular season.

UCLA shot at a 53.4 percent clip from the field, logging a 64.3 shooting percentage after halftime. The Bruins led Utah at the break, 33-31, but used a 14-0 scoring run to open the second half and extend its margin to 45-31 at the 15:09 mark.

Adams scored at least 20 points for the ninth time this season and for the first time since the Bruins’ 107-73 win against USC in Pauley Pavilion on Jan. 5, 2014.

UCLA’s advantage grew to as many as 17 points with 5:46 to play in regulation. After the Bruins’ early run in the second half, UCLA’s lead never fell below 10 points.

The Bruins will return to action at California (17-8, 8-4 Pac-12) on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Game time at California’s Haas Pavilion is slated for 7:30 p.m. That contest will be televised by Pac-12 Networks.

Game Notes: UCLA has scored at least 75 points in each of its last 15 home games (14-1 record), the longest active streak in the nation … the Bruins reached the 20-win plateau for the 31st time in 39 seasons (since head coach John Wooden retired in 1975) … UCLA’s Steve Alford has led his team to at least 20 victories in 15 of 23 seasons as a collegiate head coach, including each of the last seven years … Jordan Adams logged four steals against Utah, pushing his season total to 73 … Adams has equaled his freshman year total of 73 steals (both single-season totals are tied for fifth on UCLA’s single-season steals list) … in addition, Adams climbed into a three-way tie for ninth place on the Bruins’ all-time steals list (146, along with Gerald Madkins from 1988-92 and Ed O’Bannon from 1992-95).
