LOS ANGELES - The third-ranked Bruins completed a 6-0 weekend at the UCLA/CSUN Invitational, defeating Bakersfield 4-2 and Georgetown 3-1 on Sunday at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins improve to 23-1 on the year heading into next weekend's Pac-12 opening series against Arizona.

In game one against Bakersfield (4-19), junior Ally Carda struck out three in six innings to improve to 13-1 on the season. She allowed two unearned runs, seven hits and one walk, posting 1-2-3 innings in the second and fourth. Senior Jessica Hall retired the side in order, with one strikeout, in the seventh for her second save of the year and 11th of her career, putting her one shy of tying the school record.

At the plate, the Bruins had eight hits, with freshmen Jelly Felix and Delaney Spaulding recording two apiece.

UCLA scored twice on one swing of the bat in the bottom of the first. Carda walked to open the frame, moved to second on a sacrifice by freshman Gabrielle Maurice and came home on a homer to left by Spaulding, her fifth of the season, to make it 2-0.

In the third, three Bruin errors led to two Roadrunner runs. Karsyn Guzman led off with a grounder to second, which was bobbled by junior Gracie Goulder, who then threw the ball away, allowing Guzman to take second. One out later, Karissa Veiga singled to right, and when Felix's throw in sailed wide of the plate, Veiga moved up to second. It was a big advance for the Roadrunners, as Sydney Raeber doubled in Guzman and Veiga to even the game at two.

In the sixth, Bakersfield had a chance to take the lead with the bases loaded and one out. Amy Ricciardi flied out to Maurice in center for the second out. The freshman threw home to keep Amber Mills at third, but Cassidy Santiago strayed too far off second, with sophomore Brittany Moeai throwing to Goulder at second for the inning-ending double play.

The Bruins left the yard two more times in the sixth. Sophomore Mysha Sataraka opened the inning with a homer to center, her seventh of the season, to break the tie. One out later, Hall went deep to left-center for her fifth of the year to make it 4-2.

In game two with Georgetown (7-12), Hall earned the win, her eighth of the season to continue her perfect mark. She struck out seven in the complete game, giving up one unearned run, four hits and two walks. Hall had 1-2-3 frames in the third and fourth, striking out a pair in the fourth and sixth frames. Offensively, the Bruins had four hits.

Carda got the Bruins on the board in their first at-bat, homering to left for her third of the year to make it 1-0. Two outs later, Sataraka walked and Hall followed with a triple off the top of the right field wall to drive in UCLA's second run.

Similar to game one, some uncharacteristically poor defense by the Bruins brought in an unearned run. With one out, Madeleine Giaquinto reached on an error by Spaulding at short. One out later, Goulder dropped a pop up in shallow right-center to allow Taylor Henry to reach. Elyse Graziano followed with a double to right-center to plate Giaquinto with the Hoya run, however, Henry was thrown out at the plate on a relay from Felix to Goulder to Moeai to keep the Bruins up by a run.

Turning the tables, UCLA pocketed an insurance score in the sixth on a Georgetown miscue. Sataraka led off with a walk and was pinch-run for by freshman Robyn Corruth, who moved to second on a Hall sacrifice. Felix followed with a fly out to left for the second out of the inning. Hoya left fielder Sophia Gargicevich-Almeida threw to second in an attempt to nail Corruth, but her throw sailed into shallow right field, as the Bruin freshman came all the way in from second to net the Bruins' third run.

The Bruins host Arizona next Saturday, March 15 at 12 p.m., Sunday, March 16 at 12 p.m. and Monday, March 17 at 5 p.m. All three games will air live on Pac-12 Networks. Sunday's game is sold out, but tickets are available for Saturday and Monday's contests.
