UCLA Women's Soccer Adds Nation's No. 4 Recruiting Class

Eight standout women's soccer players will join the UCLA team in 2014, giving the Bruins Top Drawer Soccer's No. 4 recruiting class in the country. Joining the program for the 2014 season are defender Reema Bzeih (Irvine, Calif.), forward MacKenzie Cerda (Huntington Beach, Calif.), forward/defender Allie Dutto (Danville, Calif.), goalkeeper Siri Ervik (Oslo, Norway), defender Chloe Hemingway (Irvine, Calif.), midfielder/defender Sam Kokoska (Carmel, Ind.), defender/midfielder Gabrielle Matulich (Los Gatos, Calif.) and goalkeeper Arielle Schechtman (Del Mar, Calif.).

"This is a great class - very versatile with players who can fill multiple roles for us," said UCLA head coach Amanda Cromwell. "The class is very well-rounded. There are girls who can come in and step in right away."

The campus environment and beauty, as well as the proximity of the soccer field and training center to campus, made UCLA my top choice from the moment I stepped on campus."

Siri Ervik

She is a shot-stopping, courageous goalkeeper with a great background in international play. Adding an international player to a class provides a different view on the game and reinforces our mission to develop the world’s next elite professionals through our diverse culture."

Siri Ervik on why she chose UCLA: "I decided to attend UCLA because it is a good school academically and because it has a strong athletic department and good women's soccer team."

Chloe Hemingway on why she chose UCLA: "I chose to attend UCLA for the incredible soccer program. I was honored to be recruited by such a prestigious program. I also love the location and wanted to be close to the beach. The campus is also beautiful, and it felt like the best fit as soon as I walked on campus."
