Nick Carlin-Voigt Named One Of College Soccer News' Top 15 Assistants
By: UCLA Athletics

UCLA assistant coach Nick Carlin-Voigt has been selected as one of the top 15 Division I men’s soccer assistant coaches in the nation, as announced by College Soccer News.

Carlin-Voigt will enter his third season as UCLA's assistant coach in 2014 after spending five seasons as the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at George Mason from 2007-11. Carlin-Voigt is considered one of the best recruiters in the country and while at George Mason, was responsible for day-to-day operations of the program, including field player development, scouting, attendance marketing, scheduling, sports performance and academic affairs. Carlin-Voigt is also considered one of the few soccer fitness coaches in college soccer.

In his first season at UCLA in 2012, Carlin-Voigt helped guide the Bruins to their second straight Pac-12 championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. During his second season in 2013, Carlin-Voigt spearheaded the efforts to bring in the No. 1 ranked recruiting class to Westwood and helped lead UCLA back to the postseason as the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. This past offseason, Carlin-Voigt once again led the efforts to bring in the consensus No. 1 ranked recruiting class for the second straight year. Additionally, Carlin-Voigt was the only assistant coach from the Pac-12 Conference to be named to the list.

College Soccer News anually seeks to recognize assistant coaches across the country who are excelling at their work. The current selections continue or tend of the past several seasons of placing additional weight on team success on the field of play in the selection criteria.
