LOS ANGELES, CA -- UCLA freshman Alison Lee is one of four nominees this year for the Honda Award for women’s golf, Chris Voelz, Executive Director of THE Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) announced Wednesday

Lee, 19, won the Women Golf Coaches Association’s freeshman of the Year, the GolfStat Cup for the lowest scoring average in the country and three individual titles, including the 2014 Pac-12 Championship. She also played 34 rounds in 22-under par, and led the team with 20 rounds under par and a 97 percent counter ratio. In addition, in March she was named to the 2014 U.S. Curtis Cup Team.

“We’re very proud of Alison’s tremendous accomplishments this season,” said Head Coach Carrie Forsyth. “"She enjoyed a sensational freshman year and we look forward to the many achievements she is sure to have during her years at UCLA.”

The Honda Sports Award is presented annually by the CWSA to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports and signifies “the best of the best in collegiate athletics.” The winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the prestigious 2014 Honda Cup. The nominees were chosen by their NCAA Championship finish and golf rankings.

Joining Lee on the ballot will be Celine Boutier of Duke, and Annie Park and Doris Chen of USC.

The Honda Sports award winner for golf will be announced next week after voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools. Each NCAA member institution has a vote.
