Brandon Brooks Named CaptainU Coach of the Year

LOS ANGELES, CA -- UCLA’s Brandon Brooks was named the 2014 CaptainU Women’s Water Polo Coach of the Year, the organization announced this week.

In his fifth season, Brooks, 33, guided the Bruins to a 27-5 overall record and runner-up finishes in the MPSF Tournament and the NCAA Championship in May. UCLA’s second place national finish was its best under Brooks’ tutelage. Since 2010, he is 126-31.

In 2014, the Bruins landed six players on the All-MPSF Team, including Player of the Year Sami Hill, a junior goalkeeper. In addition, eight players were named to the All-Academic MPSF Team.

CaptainU is the largest youth and college sports network. It bridges sports and technology by connecting athletes with many colleges, teams and events. More than 750,000 high school athletes, youth sports events, youth coaches, and college coaches use CaptainU to promote themselves and their teams, and to connect with each other.
