LOS ANGELES – UCLA redshirt senior linebacker Eric Kendricks and sophomore linebacker Myles Jack earned a spot on the 2014 Rotary Lombardi Award watch list and the Butkus Award watch list, the organizations announced Monday.

Kendricks topped the team in tackles for the second straight season with 106 stops in 2013 and ranks tied for eighth on the all-time school list in the category. His per game average of 8.8 tackles was third-best in the Pac-12 Conference. He was the first Bruin player to record back-to-back 100-tackle seasons since 1988-1989 (Craig Davis).

His 2012 season total of 150 tackles was the most by a Bruin player since Jerry Robinson registered a school-record total of 161 stops in the 1978 campaign. Kendricks has scored a pair of defensive touchdowns in his career and recorded two blocked punts. He has also been named to the Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch lists.

Jack became the first player in history to be voted both the Conference Offensive and Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2013. He was inserted into the starting lineup at linebacker in game two of the season and his 75 tackles were the second-most ever by a Bruin true freshman defender.

Jack saw action on offense for the first time in game nine and finished the year with 267 yards and seven rushing touchdowns. His four rushing scores against the University of Washington set a school record for a true freshman player. He has also been named to the Bednarik Award, the Hornung Award and the Bronco Nagurski Trophy watch lists.

UCLA All-American and NFL first round pick Anthony Barr was a finalist for the Lombardi Award in 2013. The 45th Rotary Lombardi Award will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at the Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas.

The Bruins' 2014 football season kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Noon ET at Virginia. UCLA's home opener will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7pm at the Rose Bowl against Memphis. Season tickets for the 2014 season are on sale now at uclabruins.com/tickets. The Bruins have six home games at the Rose Bowl in 2014 – Sept. 6 vs. Memphis, Oct. 4 vs. Utah, Oct. 11 vs. Oregon, Nov. 1 vs. Arizona, Nov. 22 vs. USC and Nov. 28 vs. Stanford.
