LOS ANGELES – The UCLA football team began preparations for its season opener against Virginia on Thursday with a practice in shells on Spaulding Field.
The Bruins will wrap up training camp with two more practices before diving into the first game week of the season on Monday. All practices on campus are closed to the public.
The Bruins' 2014 football season kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Noon ET, at Virginia. UCLA's home opener will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7pm, at the Rose Bowl against Memphis. The Bruins have six home games at the Rose Bowl in 2014 – Sept. 6 vs. Memphis, Oct. 4 vs. Utah, Oct. 11 vs. Oregon, Nov. 1 vs. Arizona, Nov. 22 vs. USC and Nov. 28 vs. Stanford.
