Linebacker Eric Kendricks has been named the Walter Camp National Player of the Week after his outstanding performance in the 28-20 win at UVa on Saturday.

The redshirt senior led the Bruins with 16 tackles, one off of his career best of 17 made in a 2012 game at Arizona State, and forced one fumble. The fumble was returned 75 yards for a touchdown by Randall Goforth. On Virginia's next possession, Kendricks picked off a pass and returned it 37 yards for another touchdown.

The Bruins scored three defensive touchdowns in the second quarter against Virginia. Kendricks recorded seven of his tackles during the quarter. It marked the first time since a 1986 game at Oregon State that the Bruins had registered as many as three defensive touchdowns in a contest.

The total of 16 tackles moved Kendricks past Ken Norton, Jr. and James Washington and into sixth on the all-time school list with 348 stops. Jerry Robinson is the all-time school leader with 468 tackles.

Kendricks is  the fifth Bruin to earn Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors since 2004. Linebacker Anthony Barr was the last UCLA player to be honored and it came after last season's win at Nebraska.

Next up for UCLA is a date with Memphis this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Rose Bowl. Season tickets for the 2014 season are on sale now at uclabruins.com/tickets. The Bruins have six home games at the Rose Bowl in 2014 – Sept. 6 vs. Memphis, Oct. 4 vs. Utah, Oct. 11 vs. Oregon, Nov. 1 vs. Arizona, Nov. 22 vs. USC and Nov. 28 vs. Stanford.
