Eight UCLA Alumnae Golfers to Play in U.S. Women's Open

Eight UCLA alumnae golfers will tee it up at the 68th U.S. Women's Open Thursday at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, NY.
Led by 2013 graduate Tiffany Lua, UCLA also will be represented by Tiffany Joh, Melissa Martin (UCLA '05), Sydnee Michaels (UCLA '10), Ryann O'Toole (UCLA '09), Jane Park, Giulia Sergas and Maria Jose Uribe.
Lua, a four- time All-American, qualified on May 15th by tying for first place at Oak Valley with scores of 68-71--139. Park qualified two days earlier at Druid Hills, tying for first place with a 36-hole score of 143. Joh qualified on May 7 at The Elkridge Club in Baltimore. Her score of 144 tied for eighth.
The rest of the UCLA professionals received various exemptions to compete.
Lua's entry into the U.S. Open will be her first as a professional. She competed in three Opens as an amateur. In 2010 and 2012, she was a member of the U.S. Curtis Cup Team, and has competed in various other USGA events, including three U.S. Women's Amateur Publinks Championships while at UCLA.
